Innovations in Multi-disciplinary Practice August 9th, 2022 Grand Blanc, MI 9am-4pm

GENESYS CONFERENCE & BANQUET CENTER
805 Health Park Blvd. Grand Blanc, MI 48439

Child Abuse Multi-disciplinary teams across Michigan are faced with some of the most challenging work in our country. Responding day in and day out to outcries of abuse, investigating cases, and caring for child victims and their families is no simple task.

Thanks to funding from The Governor’s Taskforce on Child Abuse and Neglect, Children’s Advocacy Centers of Michigan is happy to announce a training to support this important work. There is NO COST to attend the training.  Lunch is included. Participants will  need to pay for lodging and travel.

This curriculum was developed to address the real issues facing the difference between doing this work well and achieving true excellence in our systemic response to child abuse. Didactic methods and interactive case vignettes will be used to fully engage participants. We are hoping to have representation from all the disciplines (LE, MH, CPS, Med, CAC, PAO, etc.) who work to support children and families in Michigan.

Participants can expect to learn about:

Best practices related to case review and information sharing across different disciplines
Systems thinking and team effectiveness
New and improved MDT toolkit developed by the MCA-MDT Technical Assistance Workgroup
Atypical trauma responses and their impact on team functioning
Strategies for combating secondary traumatic stress as a team

Both in-person and virtual live-streaming  options are available to attend the training.:

Though this program will have limited seats available for attending in-person (200 seats), CACMI is offering a hybrid opportunity for participation, both live streaming and post event access will be available. Virtual participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with other participants in breakout rooms   (SEPARATE REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR HYBRID ATTENDANCE)

For those attending in person, lunch will be catered on-site at the event venue of GENESYS CONFERENCE & BANQUET CENTER
805 Health Park Blvd. Grand Blanc, MI 48439
